Text Box: INTRODUCTION   ALSBROOKS ARCHITECTS, INC. is pleased to present for your consideration a brief history of facts about our organization.  The firm originated in 1958 when a small group from J.E. Sirrine Company, Greenville, South Carolina moved to Atlanta for the purpose of starting a professional Architectural - Engineering practice.  The company, EASTERN ENGINEERING COMPANY, was successful in assembling an organization of over 400 highly qualified personnel to design, direct and administer Architectural and Engineering work.   The company was purchased in 1969 by Simons Engineering Company of Canada.  Alsbrooks Architects, Inc. was the Architectural Division of Eastern Engineering Company with G.F. Alsbrooks, Jr., AIA, Principal in charge, and also Vice President and Director of Eastern.  The company was organized with key personnel from Eastern to form an independent Architectural, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical division.  This organization contained over 40 Architects and Engineers and provided complete A&E services for projects of a nature, which due to size and scheduling, could best be designed and coordinated independent of large industrial projects.  In 1969 upon merge of Eastern Engineering Company with Simons Engineering Company, G.F. Alsbrooks, Jr.'s interest in company was purchased by Simons and Alsbrooks ArchitectS, Inc. became a separate company.  Due to Simon's prime interest in large industrial projects, smaller projects were continued with client's approval, by Alsbrooks Architects, Inc.  The largest percentage of our workload has been for telecommunication clients.  Projects for AT&T began in 1963 and continues to date. The largest project for AT&T to date is the Durham 4ESS in Raleigh/Durham Research Triangle.  The project is a 120,000 S.F. facility, 3 floors, designed for future vertical growth of (3) three additional floor.  The construction was completed on schedule, end of 1998, and within the budget of $ 26M.  Projects for BELLSOUTH started in 1973 - Projects include New Facilities, Renovations, Additions, and also (2) MDC Centers - Henry County and St. Augustine, Florida.  Other telecommunication clients include GTE and Alltel.  Other major projects of interest include design of Training Facilities for the Corp. of Engineers at Ft. Benning, Georgia, Ft. Jackson, South Carolina and McCellan, Alabama.  Engineering support, for all our projects is provided by the same Civil, Mechanical, Electrical firms for the past (15) fifteen years.  We are registered as Architects in the SouthEastern States , also NCARB certified.  Computer capabilities include, Windows 2000, AutoCAD Rel. 2000, full color size plotter, and (6) six workstations.  Direct interface with consultants and clients.   Spreadsheet capability thru Microsoft Excel.   Design drawings, preliminary and final are transmitted electronically from and to consultants and clients.  LOCATION  Office is located on the square, downtown Madison, Georgia.  We purchased our space and renovated in 1998.  Our office is 60 minutes from downtown Atlanta.
